Paris Weather
Best travel weather for travellers to Paris
Do you want a delightful holiday on a terrace in Paris? Or do you find it more important to see many landmarks without the temperature being an influence? You have to make these choices in advance when you decide to book a trip to Paris. The city of lights brightens up in spring with colourful flowers and parks. In Paris, spring, summer and autumn usually have warm and pleasant temperatures. When you travel there you might notice it varies on average between fifty-nine and seventy-five degrees.
Avoid queues: book in advance
The number of hours of sunshine is between six and eight hours per day. Of course, there are occasional rain showers, but it is mostly dry and sunny. The result of this is that especially July and August are very busy for tourists. Queues for attractions and museums are huge. Making it a must to book in advance.
However this is not always possible everywhere. If you want a little more peace and short queues at the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre, consider the months of November to April. Then the temperature is usually between forty-four and fifty-seven degrees. If you’re lucky, it will snow for a few days in Paris, resulting in beautiful picturesque cityscapes. It is always recommended to check the weather in France before you decide to go.
Mountains Weather
A whimsical mountain climate with extremes
In the French mountains, there is more of a continental climate, which means that it is generally drier compared to the Atlantic coast. You will find the alpine mountain climate only above the tree line.
Here summers are also very fresh and the winters extremely cold with a lot of snow for several months. This is especially true for the Alpine region. In the valleys, it is warm and sunny in the summer. The slopes are usually cooler; however also sunny. With colder winters, it is frequently also possible to ski, snowboard or cross-country ski in the Vosges, the Massif Central or the Pyrenees.
Prepare Well Even In Summer
Those who like sturdy hiking holidays in the mountains should prepare well. Also bring warm clothing at high altitudes. Especially if you travel in spring or autumn. But there is a chance that snow suddenly falls in the summer too. The weather in France in the mountains is more unpredictable due to the height difference. So keep this in mind when you decide to go.
French Riviera Weather
French Riviera Has The Most Sun Hours Ff France
The southeast of France is the well-known Cote d’Azur. It is a region with many hours of sunshine and therefore a paradise for sun worshippers. Even in winter, there are at least five hours of sunshine. But it is perceived as fresher. Fortunately in winter it sometimes gets above sixty degrees due to the increased overall temperatures. This can be the sunshine you crave in winter. However if you prefer more certainty and you like to bask in all aspects, book your vacation in spring and not too late in autumn.
Eze Village: Where History Meets Stunning Views
For a change of scenery, consider taking a day trip to Eze village on the French Riviera. Famous for its medieval charm, Eze perches on a hilltop, offering breathtaking views. Highlights include the lush Jardin Exotique and delightful artisan boutiques, making it an unmissable gem on the Riviera. Check out this about Eze Village.
Midi Pyrenees & Provence Weather
Beautiful Spring In Midi Pyrenees And Provence
We stay in the south but further west when you travel to the beautiful midi-Pyrenees. Temperatures are higher than in the northern parts of France. Characteristic is the early spring and the very warm temperatures of up to eighty-six degrees in the summer. In The Provence and the associated Maritime Alps, fresh temperatures still occur in the eastern higher parts. But here too there are many hours of sunshine in the summer giving a pleasant travel experience. You are therefore guaranteed attractive holiday temperatures if you are on vacation here from spring to mid-autumn.
Atlantic Coast Weather
Stunning Atlantic Coasts With A Sunny Sea Breeze
The region of Aquitaine and the Basque Country has more influence by the weather due to the Pyrenees. A city like Pau at the foot of the Pyrenees has relatively little snow compared to Paris and it doesn’t often freeze.
But with the high mountains only an hour’s drive away, as a traveller you should always be prepared for colder temperatures, including freezing cold. The southwestern coast is also heavily influenced by the Atlantic Sea.
Basque Country a Green and Sunny Haven
This historic region of the Basque Country in France has fewer hours of sunshine than the Cote d’Azur and more rainfall. Despite the rain, it still is sun-lit enough to be attractive for travellers. Journeyers who like to spend a holiday in a greener environment can go on a holiday here. It is usually warm, but a wonderfully refreshing sea breeze gives a pleasant holiday. Additionally, at Bordeaux, more to the north along the coast, the Atlantic maritime climate still predominates. But combined with much sun and a southern breeze. Temperatures regularly rise from spring to summer values of around eighty-six degrees.
Brittany & Normandy Weather
The Northern Coast Of Brittany And Normandy
Brittany and Normandy are excellent regions to travel to from June to October. Here, the influence of the sea via the Channel is clearly noticeable. It is more frequently cloudy and there is also more wind.
You also have to take into account the occasional stormy weather. Expect rain showers in all months if you go on holiday here. Yet the temperatures in the summer also rise enough to enjoy these beautiful northern French travel regions. An advantage of the more changeable climate is that the landscape and nature receive more rain, making it greener and more flowery.
Ideal Weather In France For Travellers
There isn’t a “perfect” time to visit France because every month has something new and fascinating to offer. You’ll have a great time exploring this awe-inspiring place whether you’re seeking a romantic break, a culture-minded vacation, nice hiking weather or an action-packed outdoor adventure.
Mid-June is, in my opinion, the ideal time to travel to France. But actually, it’s a fantastic place to travel all year long.
