The biggest universal air terminal in Paris is Aéroport de Paris-Charles de Gaulle. If you travel to France from UK, this is one of the main destinations. This air terminal is found north of Paris and is domestic to the Air France carrier. Paris-Charles De Gaulle handles around sixty to seventy million travellers yearly. Among the notable aerodromes in Europe, the Airports in France stand out as prominent hubs, serving as major gateways to both domestic and international destinations. From this airdrome, you transfer to other domestic destinations throughout France. It is located about fifteen miles to the north of the city centre of Paris. Orly is the second-largest aeroplane terminal serving France and the Paris Metropolitan locale. Orly Airport has four terminals. Before the opening of the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, Orly was the key departure or arrival port.

Transport to and from Orly

 

You take the shuttle or the Orlyval- an automated metro – to transfer to the centre. If – for some reason -you don’t want to use the airport shuttle from Orly to the centre of Paris, travel by taxi, train or metro. The trains actually do not depart from the airdrome itself.  

There is an ORLYVAL shuttle bus, that goes to Antony station. Here you take line B from the RER ( Paris regional train network) to the centre of Paris. Tip: combine the shuttle bus and the train to the centre. As an alternative, you easily take the tram to station Villejuif-Aragon, where you board the metro. Find info about the Navigo travel pass, which gives you a discount on public transport.

Nice Airport located in the south of France, is essential if you spend your vacation visiting the Côte d’Azur. Voyagers who travel to France from UK frequently arrive or depart from this destination, if they visit Nice, Monaco or Cannes.

The airdrome has two terminals, where free shuttle buses run every five to ten minutes. Each year, Nice handles about ten to fifteen million tourists looking for a sunny holiday. You land with the plane on an artificial peninsula causing the runway to lie in the sea.

Tourists travel by tram T2 between the aerodrome and the centre of Nice. It is located southwest of the Mediterranean city of Nice. If you are on a budget and like to travel conveniently with public transportation, consider buying a French Riviera Pass. The distance to the centre is four miles (seven kilometres).

Passengers who like to travel to France from UK, discover the attractive sides of Lyon when they go there. Lyon aerodrome is convenient for tourists and has two practical terminals and two long runways. It is named after the French pilot and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This airdrome has its own comfy train station. Of course, this is, an advantage for transport to the city centre when you are a voyager. Likewise, you reach the centre of Lyon by a tram service called Rhônexpress or by taxi.

Lyon-Saint Exupéry is located east of Lyon. You travel to this aerodrome via exits 3, 4 and 5 of Autoroute A432. Though you can’t see it from the inside, the shape of the building is circular. This way Lyon anticipates growth in the number of flights. By car, you drive about forty minutes to the centre of Lyon, over a distance of seventeen miles (twenty-eight kilometres).

The appealing city Marseille situated on the Mediterranean coast is the oldest city in France. The port of arrival or departure is found northwest of this metropole.  This is the first airdrome in Europe to open a terminal, especially for low-cost airlines: MP2. In the coming years, Terminal One will be further expanded to handle the growing number of passengers. All together, it is built with two terminals known as MP1 and MP2.

Via the southern part of ‘Autoroute du Soleil’ the A7 motorway, you easily drive to Marseille Airport within half an hour. The distance is sixteen miles (twenty-seven kilometres) to the centre of Marseille. 

It is also possible to take the LGV to and from Marseille Saint-Charles. Because, there is a connection between both high-speed lines and the TER, the national train network. Nonetheless, you can take a shuttle bus to the centre of Marseille every fifteen minutes. You should also know there is no metro line or tram from Marseille to the aerodrome.

If you travel southwest via Toulouse, you will arrive or depart from Aéroport Toulouse-Blagnac. About ten million passengers travel here annually. This makes Toulouse Aerodrome one of the busiest in France. 

The airdrome is located five miles (eight kilometres) northwest of Toulouse. You reach it by following the Allée de Barcelona from the centre of the city in the direction of Bordeaux. There is no train connection however, you can take a shuttle bus and there is a tram connection.

In the southwest of France along the Atlantic coast, you will find the Bordeaux-Mérignac. This location for aeroplanes is six miles (eleven km) west of the city centre. The airdrome also has daily connections with various destinations in France and other European cities.

You will only find a bus connection to Bordeaux. If you want to go to the centre of Bordeaux by bus, you have to take bus one. It stops at the Quinconces stop.
